Left the Prescott area around 0900 hrs. and got down to southern
Yavapai County around 1000 hrs. The temps were in the low 80's
in the lower elevation with blue skies (although rain came later).

With the first real warm weather of the season I decided to go
out earlier in the year than I usually do, not much moving but I
saw plenty of lizards basking on the rocks and I was able to flip...

this Desert Banded Gecko

And finally I saw this Sonoran Gopher snake basking in
the sun...

Got a late start (already dark) and found this Southwestern Black-head Snake in southern Yavapai County. Soon after that we started finding neonate Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes and Mojave Rattlesnakes. This time of the year they are quite common.
